GENERAL INFORMATION RELATED TO PROCESSIONS:
Organisers of processions are required to give the Police and Aberdeenshire Council at least 28 days’ notice of a procession. There is a presumption that processions can take place – unless there are competent reasons why it would not be appropriate for an event to go ahead.
Most procession notifications will be dealt with under officer delegated powers. Where there are competent representations – this will be considered by the licensing sub-committee. In the event of a significant number of competent representations, your local ward members will be consulted on the notification and their comments considered by the licensing sub-committee.
